We send you the warmest "Saludos" from all of us at the Hotel Santa Fe, to share with you that we are about to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for your patronage and a 30% discount for all rooms from September 1, 2007 - December 15, 2007. In the 25 years of working to create a lovely and friendly haven in Puerto Escondido, we are delighted to have enjoyed the pleasure of meeting the range of extraordinary people who have stayed with us, many of whom have become friends.
This summer found the Hotel more beautiful than ever. We are having a lush, cool season, with refreshing summer rains daily in the afternoons, for about fifteen minutes. This is a very wonderful time of year, when everything turns impossibly green, overnight.
We have opened a charming new coffee shop, Cafe Cafetal, serving desserts and sandwiches, and selling the exceptional coffee from our new coffee farm, Finca Las Nieves.
The Finca , a 19th century coffee farm that we have brought back to life, is about a hour and a half from the Hotel, in the mountains. We have recently completed three beautiful guest suites for overnight stays at a working finca in the Oaxacan cloud forest. We know that there are some concerns about the political troubles in the city of Oaxaca. While we share those concerns, we do want everyone to remember that the city is far away from Puerto Escondido, and that we have not been affected at all.
Our restaurant continues superb, and our new second chef, A Roberto (last name), is constantly developing new dishes. He has studied on several occasions with Casa Oaxaca in the city of Oaxaca, long known for their excellent restaurant, and is an exciting new talent.
The new Airline between Mexico and Puerto Escondido, called "Click Mexicana", flies daily and low fares can be found on their web site.
